Yesterday, I made sure that I only ate a small lunch because I knew that I was visiting my favourite Chinese restaurant for dinner. The restaurant is a small, reasonably dirty local restaurant that serve a range of delicious dishes at a ridiculously cheap price. They specialise in northern Chinese dishes, with so many different kinds of dumplings, it is always hard to choose.
Jiaozi!
Hazel and Azuse decide which dumplings to order
You can watch the cooks making the dumplings from the street and also inside the restaurant
Three of us shared the following dishes for the crazy price of 30rmb ($6) each.
Jiaozi (dumplings) - we enjoyed chicken with mushroom and egg with vegetables
Fan qie chao ji dan (fried egg and tomato) - a Wuxi staple
Gong bai ji din (spicy chicken and peanuts) - a Sichuan speciality
A new dish we tried, I'm not sure of the Chinese name - spicy pork with vegetables and hot buns
YUM!! My all time favourite - ba si pinguo (hot apple covered in a toffee coating)
Do you feel hungry?!
