The 2011 AFL Grand Final was a perfectly executed game - a close game for three quarters followed by a runaway lead by Geelong in the final quarter. C and I watched the game with about 100 other Australian expats at a local pub. There were several Collingwood jumpers in the crowd, but no Geelong ones to be seen, despite the fact that most of the crowd seemed to be cheering for the Cats. So, I shouldn't have been surprised when, at the end of the game, no one sung the Cats theme song (and I wasn't drunk enough to sing it by myself!) They obviously weren't 'real' Geelong fans. It was a terrific night and it was very satisfying to watch Geelong take home another flag.
