Ten things I love about Uberfoods .....

Wine in the afternoon sun!

A disturbing rumour was travelling around EtonHouse yesterday.....Uberfoods were packing up and relocating to Suzhou or Shanghai. This just topped off my awful week, so Amy and I quickly headed off to Uberfoods after school to uncover the truth behind the rumours. After being reassured that this wasn't happening any time soon, we settled in on the chairs outside to enjoy a glass of white and the rare afternoon sun.

The Wuxi star - the only star in Wuxi.....can you spot it?

We pledged to visit Uberfoods every day if it meant them staying open. Here are the top 10 things I love about Uberfoods:

  1. They serve the most beautiful fresh foods.
  2. The presentation of the food is simply stunning.
  3. They have a great range of little treats for dinner parties - homemade tomato sauces, slices of banana dipped in chocolate, duck liver pate.
  4. It is so civilised, it almost feels like you're not in China!
  5. The staff are so lovely and always get the wine ready as soon as we walk in the door!
  6. The chef is extremely friendly and a little bit eccentric.
  7. They bake real bread - dark bread with a real crust.
  8. The chef did some experiments with wheat free breads for me and delivered me a spelt loaf straight from the oven last night.
  9. The desserts are simply divine.
  10. The restaurant is about a 20 minute bike ride from home, perfect to work off the wine and yummy foods on the ride home!
