Last week, I went to the post office in the middle of the day with a Chinese staff member and the school driver. On the way, we needed to drop off one our Nursery (2 year olds) students. We drove off with the 2 year old student perched on the staff member’s knee, with no seat belt on. Scary, but hey, this is China!
As we pulled out of the post office, we passed a car that had a child leaning out the window (the car was stationery). The staff member commented on how dangerous this was! How bizarre – driving with an unrestrained child in the front seat with no seat belt is not dangerous?!
